Refunds & Returns Policy

1. Our Consumer Guarantees

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. 

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. 

A major failure happens when the item:

  • Has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying it if they had known about it.

  • Is unsafe or significantly different from the sample or description.

  • Does not do what we said it would (or what you asked for) and cannot be easily fixed.

 

2. Change of Mind Returns

As a small hobby business, we want you to love your handmade craft. However, because our items are [Handmade / Made-to-Order / One-of-a-kind], we do not typically offer refunds for “change of mind” (e.g., you decided you didn’t like the colour or found it cheaper elsewhere).

  • Discretionary Exchange: We may offer an exchange or store credit at our discretion within 14 days of purchase, provided the item is unused, in its original condition, and you have proof of purchase.

  • Excluded Items: For hygiene and safety reasons, we cannot offer change-of-mind returns on [Earrings / Personal Items / Custom Commissions].

 

3. How to Request a Return

If there is a problem with your order, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Us: Email us at ask@imakethings.com.au within a reasonable time of discovering the fault.

  2. Provide Proof: Please include your order number and photos of the fault or damage.

  3. Assessment: We will assess the item. If the fault is minor, we may choose to repair it. If it is major, you can choose a refund, replacement, or store credit.

 

4. Shipping Costs for Returns

  • Faulty Goods: If the product is confirmed to have a major or minor failure, we will reimburse you for reasonable return postage costs. Please keep your postage receipt.

  • Change of Mind: If we agree to a discretionary exchange, the customer is responsible for all shipping costs associated with returning the item and sending the new item.
